The Economist Intelligence Unit created the list of the most liveable cities in 2019, reviewing 140 different cities, ranking them by averaging the results of five metrics: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, infrastructure.
Vienna kept its top position for the second time. The Austrian capital collected 99,1 point out of 100. The city of Melbourne, winner of 2017, moved to the 2. place, while the 3. position was grabbed by Sydney. The list of the top ten goes on like this: 4. Osaka; 5. Calgary; 6. Vancouver; 7. Toronto/Tokyo; 9. Coppenhage; 10. Adelaide.
Collecting more than 90 points, being well above the average of the region, Budapest became the top city of the Eastern Europe, ahead of the most popular destinations of the region, like Prague, Moscow and Istanbul. London stayed on last year's 48. place, Paris slided to a lower position, while Damascus is on the bottom of the list.
